Welcome to the WVAPT Web Site!

The WVAPT and the WVDE collaborated again this year to put on a very successful WV School Transportation Conference at Snowshoe this year.  The attendance was excellent with 55 counties attending and a total of nearly 500 attendees.  Many thanks to the 87 vendor representatives for their invaluable contribution.

The West Virginia Association for Pupil Transportation recently purchased a training trailer and provide the necessary equipment to set up a School Bus Safety
Road-e-o.  A county or RESA  may request the Road-e-o trailer on a first come first serve bases by calling Todd Bloss, Director, Wood County Schools Transportation.

This year has been very busy for the WVAPT Executive Committee and the WVDE staff.

This and last year has brought about much change, including; On-line training and testing, recertification of bus operator trainers, updated classroom training manual, addition of a behind-the-wheel training manual, updating the WVDE “WV School Bus Transportation Policy & Procedures Manual (Policy 4336) and the updating of the new bus specifications.

All of these changes are necessary to meet our goal: To provide safe and efficient school transportation for all public students in West Virginia.
