The goal of the West Virginia Association for Pupil Transportation is to promote safe and efficient transportation for all students to and from school and school activities.

Information regarding the WVAPT 2013 Conference and the State School Bus Safety Road-e-o is available by clicking on the Meeting link. We are pleased to offer once again this year West Virginia’s Best School Bus Technician/Inspector Skills Competition. We will be using the same format as the America’s Best Competition sponsored by the National Association for Pupil Transportation and the winners will qualify to advance to the national competition. We do encourage those who are qualified to participate.

2012 America’s Best School Bus Inspector
Two Years In a Row

Jack Defibaugh (left), of Greenbrier County Schools was recognized on October 21st at the 38th Annual NAPT Conference in Memphis Tennessee. After winning first place in the WVAPT’s state competition in July, Jack represented West Virginia at the 9th Annual NAPT America’s Best National School Bus Technician and Inspector Training and Skills competition in Rocky Mount North Carolina, during the last week of September. The 31 mechanics from throughout the US not only shared in some friendly competition but was provided valuable training workshops during the week. WVAPT is very proud of Jack and his accomplishments in having won first place in the inspector’s part of the competition for a second year in a row. WVAPT remains committed in continuing the WV’s Best Tech/Inspect competition at the annual conference and looks forward to more participants in the years ahead.
